Sovereign currently manages a domestic private equity fund-of-funds, the Niche Emerging Private Equity Manager Fund 1 (NEPEM 1). NEPEM 1 invests in Australian niche emerging private equity funds in various sectors including early stage venture capital, expansion capital, management buyouts and management buy-ins, as well as other niche strategies including secondaries.

The NEPEM Fund focuses on funds targeting smaller proprietary transactions, ideally at relatively low acquisition multiples, with a bias to funds providing expansion capital to fast-growing industry sectors.

Sovereign also manages The Co-Investment Fund 1 (TCF 1) which is raising capital for direct co-investment in attractive underlying investee companies.

NEPEM 1 and TCF 1 were established by The Private Capital Group, which was founded in 1997 by a number of Australian Superannuation Funds.
